We are a young microalgae biotechnology team in Faro, Portugal. The work is hands-on, it happens in our laboratory at CRIA, and what comes out of it goes to industrial partners.

Bioprocess Technician
Runs fermentations and the analytics behind them in our laboratory at CRIA, University of the Algarve, as part of the INNOVALG project.
Biologist
Strain and process development in our laboratory at CRIA, University of the Algarve. A permanent position co-funded by the European Social Fund Plus through Algarve 2030 (BIOCAP).

How you work matters most
You are comfortable at the bench
Most of what we do is practical. Cultures, bioreactors, analytics and the discipline to record what you did well enough that someone else can repeat it.
You think in processes
A result counts when it can be repeated. The interesting question is always whether it will hold at the next scale.
You work across disciplines
Biology, engineering and commercial reality sit close together in a team this size. Roles overlap by design.
You ask before you assume
We develop methods from scratch. “Here is how I would find out” is the answer we value.
