Bioactive ingredient sales
Non-GMO Chlorella without the green colour or the algal taste, and sulphated exopolysaccharides from Porphyridium purpureum for skin care. Produced by fermentation, supplied as whole cell or lysed, with samples available now.
Chlorophyll-free. Neutral colour and taste, 35 to 50% protein.
Chlorophyll-reduced, carrying lutein. Same protein range.
Sulphated exopolysaccharides, liquid, for cosmetics.
The real constraint
Conventional Chlorella is dark green and tastes of it. That is why it usually appears at low inclusion levels, in capsules and tablets, or in products where a green cast is part of the story. The moment a formulator wants meaningful protein in a pale product, a beverage, a dairy alternative, a bakery item, the ingredient stops being an option.
Limits inclusion levels and rules out pale matrices entirely. The nutrition is there, but the formulator cannot use it.
Same organism, same non-GMO status, a fraction of the sensory penalty. The constraint largely disappears.
Product range
Chlorella sp.
Chlorophyll-free biomass with neutral colour and taste, for products where a green cast is not an option.
Chlorella sp.
Chlorophyll-reduced biomass carrying lutein, for applications where the pigment is an asset rather than a problem.
Porphyridium purpureum
Sulphated exopolysaccharides supplied as a liquid for cosmetic formulation.
Specification and compliance
The white and yellow products are both Chlorella sp., obtained by random mutagenesis and selection. There is no recombinant DNA and no GMO labelling obligation, and the species is one the EU Novel Food Catalogue lists as consumed before 15 May 1997, which places it outside the scope of the Novel Food Regulation.
Composition per strain is provided on request and with every sample, and the figures for the material you actually receive come on its certificate of analysis.
Formats
Best where you want the full biomass in the matrix: protein contribution, texture, and a clean label with one ingredient. Lower processing cost, and the cell wall slows the release of intracellular compounds.
Best where digestibility and bioavailability matter, in supplements, in pet nutrition, and wherever intracellular compounds need to be accessible rather than locked inside the cell.
Applications
Protein and colour-neutral biomass for dairy alternatives, bakery, pasta, snacks and drinks where a green cast is unacceptable.
Protein, lutein and whole biomass in capsules, tablets and powders, with the lysed format where bioavailability is the priority.
Palatable protein and pigment for pet food and treats, in whole cell or lysed form.
Sulphated exopolysaccharides from Porphyridium purpureum for skin care formulation.
Documentation
A formulator cannot work from a colour and a promise. Every shipment carries the technical specification for the product and the analysis for the specific batch in your hands.
If your quality team needs a document we have not listed, ask. If it exists we will send it, and if it does not we will say so.
Supply
We are a young company and we would rather set expectations correctly than win an order we cannot fill. Samples are available immediately.
Commercial volumes are produced by fermentation, in-house or through contract capacity. We agree volume and timing with you rather than publishing a number we cannot hold.
Production runs in closed fermenters, so output does not depend on weather or daylight.
A controlled process rather than an open pond, which is what makes a specification meaningful.
Media designed around regional agro-industrial side streams.
Formulation support
We help you get the ingredient into the product: inclusion levels, colour and taste behaviour in your matrix, stability through your process, and which format to use where. If a target needs a composition we do not currently supply, we can develop it, because we breed and improve the strains ourselves rather than buying biomass.
Before you ask for a sample
No. Both Chlorella strains are non-GMO, developed by selection and non-recombinant improvement. This is a deliberate choice, not a limitation.
Between 35 and 50% for both the white and the yellow biomass. The figure for the material you receive is on its certificate of analysis.
The white biomass is chlorophyll-free and close to neutral. The yellow carries lutein and will tint a pale matrix. We will tell you what to expect in your specific product, and the sample is the fastest way to find out.
Whole cell for biomass, texture and a single-ingredient label. Lysed where digestibility and bioavailability matter. Ask for both in the sample if you are unsure.
It is supplied for cosmetic use. If you have a food application in mind, tell us and we will look at what that would require.
Exclusivity is possible by field of use and territory, and is agreed case by case rather than offered as standard.
Tell us what you are formulating and we will send the format that fits: 10 g of Chlorella biomass, or 50 mL of EPS.
