Applications
Where these ingredients go
Functional food and beverages
Bars, snacks, pasta, meal replacements and drinks. Neutral colour and taste mean the inclusion level is set by the recipe rather than by what the product has to look like.
Vegan protein substitute
A complete amino acid profile from a single non-GMO organism. No soy, no pea, no dairy on the label. One ingredient covering what usually takes a blend.
Supplements
Capsules, tablets and powders, where protein, carotenoids or both are wanted from one raw material rather than assembled from several.
Dairy alternatives and bakery
Plant milks, yoghurts, desserts, bread and cake are pale products, exactly where a green ingredient fails first. Fortify the protein without tinting the base, or use the golden variant where a warm note is welcome.
Pet nutrition and feed
Kibble, treats and layer feed, where palatability and colour are both bought on purpose. Here the carotenoids are a paid-for function.
Cosmetics
Hydration, barrier support and film-forming in skin care, from a sulphated exopolysaccharide that performs at low use levels.
